One year ago today I left on one of the most incredible adventures of my life. I find it fitting that on Sunday I will be embarking on another big adventure. This time, however I will be going with two people I know rather than 750+ people that I have never met.
One year ago today I woke up early in the morning at my hotel room, got some breakfast and went to the docks where I stood inline for around an hour before going onto the ship. I met my roommate, had dinner with some people who eventually became my best friends on the ship and spent my first night on the rocky ship where I hardly got any sleep. The bed felt like it was breathing all night, a feeling I soon came to love and find relaxing. I miss this feeling almost as much as I miss the people I met. Over the next few months there will be a lot of one year anniversaries to amazing events that I was lucky enough to be a part of. Some of my friends I didn’t meet until later on in the voyage, but I feel closer to them than I do to some people I have known for years. I have only been able to see one person from my voyage since leaving the ship, but I am going to be seeing another in a few months and hopefully I will be able to see even more soon.
People still ask me about which country was my favorite and no matter what, I don’t think I’ll be able to answer this question. Right now I want to go back to one of these countries, or maybe even a new one. For now, though I will have to deal with exploring more of the US. Only a few more days until I am off to Arizona.
